Choose or create a theme that best represents you as a couple.
Beach, vineyard, farm, forest, desert, vintage, chic, steampunk, rock and roll, dark romance, starry night, french, industrial, Tuscan, multi-denominational, cultural or minimalist. There are just loads of awesome public spaces in SA, and private gardens that might accommodate your needs. (remember you might need a permit from council)
A spectacular view or backdrop is all you need for a magical and memorable 'tie the knot' moment.
And if you don't have one, you can create the feel simply by draping fabric or foliage and fairy lights and candles against walls and on tables.
For your reception, either long community style tables or small cafe style depending on your theme. For a rustic garden affair you might even set up picnic areas with baskets full of delicious, fresh, local produce.
Create a wedding website or facebook page and e-invitations and thank yous. Simple and cost effective and a great way to keep track of your RSVPs, and sync your wedding registry.
Long community tables overflowing with fresh local produce or a classy boutique affair with a chosen few. Always serve local produce in season, always more cost effective. Save money on drinks and arrange with your venue for BYO, you might need to pay corkage.
If you go for a smaller display cake you can order additional servings of kitchen cake (remember some bakers will require a minimum number of servings on the decorated cake) and you'll still have your stunning centrepiece. Or you might even fake it with some decorated foam tiers.
Opt for leafy garlands, herbaceous bridesmaid bouquets and woodland-like ferns for lush and plentiful displays.
Re-purpose your blooms, flowers in the aisle can become centrepieces at your reception. Yours and your bridesmaids bouquets will also look lovely on the signing table or later with your cake.
Do you have talented friends and family? A relative with a cool car who'd love to drive you to the event? Perhaps DJ your own wedding reception. Invite a student feature, trio or quartet to play you down the aisle.
